BPW/MI Monday Minute March 10th, 2008 Changes have been transforming BPW, both at the state and national levels. These changes are both small & large, but changes that we can adjust to if listen to them with a positive mind. Many of these changes are long over due, some are coming about due to our shrinking numbers, which has a major impact into every aspect of what this great organization has been involved. Technology is also now a very important part of our organizations communication; conducting EC meetings, webnars, membership information. In many cases hard copy is no longer a cost effective manner to reach our members. Reduced members, equals reduced financial power. So what can you do about this as a member? Many things, but here is one thing that is very possible for YOU the member can do. If are reading this Monday Minute, then you are connected to BPW at the state & national levels. You can inform your local members of the current changes, the proposed changes & any upcoming conferences/meetings. You can print off a copy to share with your local members at each of your meetings for those members who are not into technology or post them in your local newsletter is you have one. Your local can create a committee or appoint an individual that is solely responsible for reporting the updates that are posting on the BPW websites. Make funds available to cover printing costs in your annual budgets. Do not feel cut off, the information is available to you, just the delivery of the information has changed. Here's to the Future of BPW. Penny Modlin Immediate Past State President
