BPW/MI Monday Minute April 10th, 2006
Spring is here! The
grass is green, spring fever is in the air. Summer
will soon be here. In BPW we are coming to the end of one year and
starting the beginning of the next. We will all be electing new
officers
in our locals, and they will begin to plan for the next year. Please
consider running for an office or sign up to be involved on a
committee in your local. Committees at the state level are always
open for more
members. If you don't want to serve on a committee, consider helping
with an event sponsored by your local.
Membership has stabilized. We need to retain our current members and
recruit new members. Listen to the members of your local and ask
them what programs they would like to have. When talking to a
prospective member-what is she looking for in joining a group.
Consider having a member recruitment night soon.
The state conference at Sault Ste. Marie is coming up fast.
Deadlines for many of the awards to be given out then are due this
Saturday April 15, 2006. Officer and Board of Director reports are
also due on or before April 15. If you haven't made your room
reservation yet- do it ASAP! Make sure you book your room under the
BPW/MI room block. The hotel is completely booked, except for our
room block. Please tell anyone who may not get the Monday minute
this information. The Kewadin numbers to use are:1-800-KEWADIN
Group number 398341
I attended my district meeting last week and we talked about how BPW
has impacted our lives. As a member of the Mid Michigan and District
4 I learned alot. The last meeting was a little sad to say goodbye
to the district structure, but joyful in the promise of the future.
BPW has been a powerful influence in many of our lives. We can all
think of one or more ladies who mentored us directly or indirectly
thru BPW. I believe this will continue no matter how old we are. We
have a great history and will continue to make history.
