Expired Membership
Are you
having problems with your membership? Can you still access
your personal profile within BPW/USA on-line? Have you
misplaced your most recent dues invoice? Have you paid your
dues in a timely manner but National still has not
acknowledged your payment?
These
are all the questions that have been bouncing around in my
head since I downloaded our state national membership list
on July 1, 2006. We have a real problem right now and I want
to hear from you the member as to how I can or any member of
EC committee can help you with solving your membership
issues. As of the above download date, our current state
membership stands at 475. That is down by 76 members since
our May convention. And my big fear is that you as
individual members are not even aware of it. I base this
assumption on the fact that many of you have filled out your
local officer information sheets and turned them in on time.
Some local presidents listed do not show up on the current
membership list. That means that you are NOT your local’s
president. You can only hold an office in any organization
if your full dues are paid up to date.
I know
that problems can occur within any organization, and BPW is
not immune from making an error. After all, we are only
human, even a computer does the processing. It is still
human input at some point. Let me know before I depart for
National Conference in Dallas so that I can take your
individual complaints, issues, problems you’ve had up to
this point and let’s see if by going directly to human
contact we can resolve these issues. Give me as many details
about what has transpired up to this point and let’s see
what I can find out for you. I may have success by going to
the source.
Remember, if you are a local president with an expired
membership, I can not print your contact information in the
Michigan Manual. I would hate to have that happen, as I know
you would be disappointed too.
