BPW/MI Monday Minute July 11th, 2005 As stated in a previous Monday Minute, a team was appointed at the June planning meeting to define the new regions that were approved at the May state convention. The committee is working hard to develop the definitions. Their target date is July 17. They are on track to meet that date. The bylaws committee will take the region definition and included it in the bylaws. The bylaws committee is also working on revising the bylaws to reflect the changes as needed to transition to the new state organization as approved at the May 2005 state convention. The bylaws committee is working to the following schedule: * July 31, 2005 – complete bylaws changes * August 13, 2005 – review bylaws with the executive committee * September 2005 – send proposed bylaws changes to Board of Directors * October 29, 2005 – present the proposed bylaws changes to the Board of Directors * December 23, 2005 – complete policies and procedures, and local model bylaws revisions * January 14, 2006 – review proposed policies and procedures, and local model bylaws changes with executive committee * February 2006 – send proposed changes to Board of Directors * March 17, 2006 – present proposed changes to the Board of Directors for approval, dependent on approval of proposed bylaws changes at the State Convention in May 2006. Every member has a role in the change process. For board members, review the changes before each board meeting and be ready to discuss the changes. For members that are not board members, talk with your district director (your representative on the board) about the changes and your opinion of the changes. |
