Signature Programs

  • Reality Store
  • University of Life
  • YBPW
  • Local Events

Signature Events give BPW visibility and recognition in your community. “Signing” your events as “sponsored by BPW” brings status and prestige to your organization, no matter how large or how small your local is.  Every press release, every brochure, every piece of literature you distribute allows others to see who you are – and lets others recognize that you are an organization worth joining.

Reality Stores have become great marketing and visibility tools for BPW Michigan. By reaching the kids- boys and girls alike, our message is very real!  I have read hundreds of evaluations done by the participants over the past several years.  Every student from the most gifted to the most disabled gets the message- every choice you make in life affects every other choice in your life.

Stay in school, get a good job, and don’t have kids until you can provide for them!  We as BPW members spread that message while we are getting involved in our communities by presenting the Reality Store and by partnering with the ISD’s (Intermediate School Districts).  Our sale of the Reality Store © programs and the annual updates has become a great fundraiser for BPW/Michigan.

Speaking, of updates, this is your last chance – this week, to get your requests for information to be added to the next edition.  Send your recommendations to jbbassett@charter.net

University of Life, our weekend esteem-building program for girls 11 – 17 was held in two locations this year, up north in Petoskey in June, and in Lansing in August.   We have asked some of the girls to share their experiences with you, and they will be posted on the BPW/Michigan website in the near future.

Girls who have attended the University of Life programs, at least once, are welcome to join the Youth BPW.  The girls attend the State Board Meetings, holding their own meetings during that weekend.  If you have girls that have attended University of Life, bring them to Big Rapids to join the YBPW. For more information, contact Sue Modson.

Make all your local events BPW Signature events.   Every event you do, whether it is to raise funds for your scholarships, holding forums before local elections, whatever the reason – when you say BPW it becomes a signature event.  It brings the BPW name into the limelight and shows people who you are.

Your local events can be put on the state website as well as your own website.  What better way to share your ideas and successes with other BPW members around the state?  What better way to learn what and how other locals succeed?  Go to an event sponsored by a BPW local anywhere in the state.  Believe me, you will be considered “visiting dignitaries” and spend the time with great people.  Here is an example of a coming event you are all invited to attend.
