From your Executive Committee and Board of Directors

Points to remember before and during the holiday weekend…

Ø      You may still contact state president, Trish Knight, with your credit card information if you would like to attend the Celebrate Michigan reception with Senators Debbie Stabenow, Carl Levin, Barbara Boxer (CA), Maria Cantwell (WA), Hillary Rodham Clinton (NY), and Governor Jennifer Granholm on Thursday, December 1 at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.  We are trying to get 5 tickets to the general reception… email Trish ASAP if you are interested - bpwmichigan@yahoo.com

Ø      We are still seeking an interested person to chair the Young Careerist Program – if you would like to oversee this program and serve on the board of directors for the balance of the 2006 year, please email bpwmichigan@yahoo.com   We would like someone who has served as a local president or district officer and is familiar with the Virginia Allen Young Careerist program requirements and competition.

Ø      Take every precaution when shopping and traveling this weekend.  Crime is on the rise throughout the state – don’t let yourself become a victim.

Ø      Consider asking a new person to join you as your guest at your holiday BPW meeting.  Invite a neighbor, a friend, a church acquaintance, a business associate or someone who serves you at the grocery store, restaurant, salon, dealership, or school.

Ø      As you consider your year-end giving, don’t forget BPW in your giving: The Cancer Board of Overseers, The BPW/USA Foundation, and the BPW/MI Foundation.

Ø      Make your plans now to attend the Policy and Action Conference in Washington, DC on February 2-4.  Join us on Capitol Hill for a day of lobbying!

Ø      Take time for yourself – have a massage, take a relaxing bubble bath, curl up with a good book, rent a video or dvd.  Nothing is so important that it can’t wait until tomorrow…

Ø      Enjoy every moment with family and friends – take time for the small things…and tell someone you love them.

Happy Thanksgiving.
