We are all busy preparing for all the many holiday season gatherings, both at work and home. I am sure that you feel you do not have enough hours in the day to accomplish all the tasks that you have set out for yourself or that someone else has requested of you. Believe me I am there with you too. But I also must remind myself, as well as those loved ones making additional requests, all in good time things will come together. So please take some time to slow things down a bit, enjoy the moment at hand, allow yourself to feel the season that we are surround within. We shall never pass this way again in the same fashion and it’s up to each individual to make the most of each day. Give thanks for all your blessings, not matter how large or small, give to others in whatever fashion you can, but give of yourself from the heart. I want to extend to each of you a Merry Christmas Season and only the very best for the coming New Year.

Reminders

Here are some random thoughts as reminders for the New Year!

Check your Michigan Manual if your local is interested in any of the available awards listed. You still have time to get involved with them. If you have any questions please contact Awards Chair Deb Mesler or Signature Events Chair Jan Bassett. These ladies will have help with details and questions.

If you want to run for any state office, your deadline of getting your nominations material to Nominations Chair Connie Carroll is Jan. 1, 2007. Do not delay, act now if you are interested.

Now is the time to make plans to attend, sponsor a student or be a facilitator for University of Life in June 22-24, 2007 at Saginaw Valley State University. Complete information was in the last Michigan Business Woman Newsletter, or contact Signature Events Chair Jan Bassett. It’s not too soon to make plan to attend or become a sponsor.

Some of our locals hold Young Careerist programs which can attract new members. Until we are successful in funding some of the costs for a representative to attend National Conference, we will not hold a competition at the state level this year. We will welcome any YC to speak at convention on Friday evening during the speech section of the program. We will keep you informed as to the status of the funding in the coming months.
